The dressing table that we restored is finished. Completely and utterly. No extra bits to be done.

We picked up the mirror last week and then it was a simple matter of attaching the fittings to the mirror and support posts before positioning the mirror.
I am thrilled with how the piece has turned out and I am sure that it will last use for many years.
That looks lovely. Well done.
Thanks, Pat. I love it when a plan comes together. 🙂
Your site is very nice, thank you for sharing!
Beautiful job.
Thanks, Zoe. 🙂
It looks great! It feels good to be able to say that you refinished something yourself.
Yes, I am really proud of how it turned out.
I have a similar one bought with a new bedroom suite two years ago, apparently the mirror didnt come with it and I remarked that it was displayed like that and the price did not state that the mirror was not included, It was a seperate piece. After some haggling, they threw in the top piece, that was what drew me to the suite in the first place! My Mum had one like it when I was growing up and always loved it.
That is very cheeky to display it as one without any statement that the mirror was separate. Well done on the haggling.
Very nice! If ever you decide to de-clutter it I know of a great place to relocate it to:)
What sort of finish did you use? I did one a few years ago using gun stock oil which came up really well. Nice work!
Sorry, I am not planning on decluttering it anytime soon! 🙂
I remember that there was much discussion about the finish but I am not sure what we ended up using. I will check with The Duke and get back to you on that one.
