This afternoon I gave my grand-daughters a very special gift – my time. I spent 1.5 hours with them while Belle went to an appointment in the city. They had my 100%, undivided attention and we had a wonderful time strolling through the city.
We rode escalators, walked through the park, saw fountains, window-shopped, heard the clock chime and absorbed the sights and sounds of a late afternoon in the city. I did not have a stroller for Izz so they both walked tirelessly, each holding my hand. We were in no hurry so we just took our time and delighted in being together.
I bought 4 pairs of socks for Miss O – a bargain at $1.25 each and a piece of material for $8 which will make several pairs of leggings for them. The shopping was fun as they both helped sort through the socks on the bargain table looking for the size and colour that we liked.
I am sure they will sleep well tonight and I know I will, too.
As a grandmother I have all of the time in the world and to be able to share it with my grand-daughters is a real pleasure.
Happy birthday Yvonne! I spend a lot of time with my grandchildren, too. One of the pleasures of getting older, lol.
Fairy, what a lovely outing that sounds. Being a Grandmother is certainly a blessing and being wise enough to know the best gifts to give Grandchildren arent commercial ones is the key.
Hope you are having a wonderful birthday today! Much love from the Clutter Gang x
What a great day and looking forward to doing things like that with my Granddaughter one day :0)
