A New Name

Here is your opportunity to give me your thoughts.

In the 4 years that I have been writing this blog I have referred to my husband as ‘The Duke’.  It is a long story which I won’t bore your with but it came about several years ago when a friend called him this as it linked to my nickname at the time.

I feel that is important not to use our real names in order to preserve some degree of anonymity.  Regardless of whether you agree with this or not that is my decision.

2015-03-17 01Anyway, he announced the other night as I was writing that he was not happy with this title but neither of us can come up with an alternative which is acceptable and hopefully, original.

So, what name would you use?

  1. Perhaps try ‘Fairy and The Pirate’ with shades of Peter Pan and Captain Hook. I think basically there is a small child in all of us.

  2. mmm, doesn’t like being called the duke, here i was thinking how sweet to think of clever names for yourselves in blog land. could always call him either of the boys from dukes of hazard or just do the initial of ‘D’ as in mr D? probably be hard to change after using the name for so long. good luck!
    thanx for sharing

  3. Well, are you going to stick with ‘Fairy’? I tend to picture Tinkerbell, or one of the fairy godmothers in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. I wonder if he could have a parallel title, such as the Vizier, or something?

  4. Gosh, I have tried thinking of a new title but can’t really come up with something suitable.Does he have an idea of a general “theme” he might like and then we could go from there? Farmer, grandfather, traveler, cat whisperer??????

  5. Hi Fairy, I kinda like the title of ‘The Duke’ – it’s a bit daunting trying to find something suitable that he would fancy himself – has he any ideas? Maybe seeing he’s not keen on that one, he should be the one to think up something else 🙂 Just a thought. Cheers. Pam Date: Tue, 17 Mar 2015 12:01:21 +0000 To: lilly.pilly7@hotmail.com

  6. If you are Fairy then he could be an elf or naughty like a goblin or troll. As you live in a castle he could be the Lord or Bishop or Sire or Knight or maybe he is funny and is the jester. Maybe a name relating to his favourite hobby or pastime?
